A requirement of the Care Act 2014 is for the BSAB to publish a strategic plan.
In Bristol, this is a 3 year strategic plan (2015-2018), and can be found below.
The Strategic Priorities are aligned with the six core principles of safeguarding:
People being supported and encouraged to make their own decisions and informed consent.
It is better to take action before harm occurs.
The least intrusive response appropriate to the risk presented.
Support and representation for those in greatest need.
Local solutions through services working with their communities. Communities have a part to play in preventing, detecting and reporting neglect and abuse.
Accountability and transparency in safeguarding practice.
