Sub groups

The work of the Board is driven forward by a number of sub groups. The structure of the sub groups can be found below:

The Executive sub group

The Executive group is chaired by the Independent BSAB Chair and consists of the chairs of the sub groups, members of the JSBU, and the strategic leads of the core partners (Bristol City Council, Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group, Avon & Somerset Constabulary). The group considers the governance of the overall Board and maintains general strategic oversight of Board work.

Performance and Information sub group

The Performance and Information sub group (PISG) is chaired the Service Manager for Safeguarding and DoLS / MCA in Bristol City Council, and conducts work around data and performance, including the production of regular data reports and audits. This is vital in maintaining an accurate picture of safeguarding across Bristol.

Communications and Engagement sub group

The Communications and Engagement sub group (CESG) is chaired by the Director of a local charity, and focuses on engagement with the wider community. Work involves the arrangement of safeguarding conferences, campaigns such as Stop Adult Abuse Week, and meaningful engagement with adults in receipt of services.

Learning and Development sub group

The Learning and Development sub group is chaired by the Designated Nurse for Safeguarding, Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group, and monitors the relevant training in agencies in Bristol to ensure a properly developed workforce.
