National Hate Crime Awareness Week

Friday 15th October

SARI, Avon and Somerset Police, and a regional group of local agencies and equalities professionals is organising a multi-agency conference that brings together leading experts to offer up to date information and advice re: the nature of, challenges and ways to tackle online hate.

This conference is for professionals from a variety of sectors including schools, further education and universities, policing, local authorities, the CPS, housing providers, social care providers, corporate, voluntary and charitable sector.

Delegates will have the option to attend a selection of workshops or come to the whole day.

Sessions include:

1. The Law, now and in the future for dealing with online hate

2. Why Artificial Intelligence has not solved the problem of online hate

3. Policing online hate including online abuse against women and girls

4. Social Media Platforms- what are they doing to tackle online hate?

5. Tackling Hate in online hate in education settings- extreme right wing; left wing; anarchist and single issue

6. Dealing with online hate for disabled people

7. Personal Testimony from Bristol Mayor
