Sally Rowe has been appointed the new Independent Chair and Scrutineer of the Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership (KBSP), by members of the KBSP Executive Group.
The KBSP is responsible for ensuring that local agencies work together to safeguard children, adults and communities. Sally’s role is pivotal to supporting the partnership to develop best practice and deliver good quality services across the city delivering against the KBSP’s 2023-2026 Strategic Plan.
Sally has been a qualified social worker for over 30 years, working across children’s and adult’s services in both front line and leadership roles, including as Director of Children’s Services in Walsall, Her Majesty’s Inspector of local authorities and a senior manager within Ofsted. She is also a Non-Executive Director of a Health Trust in the Midlands and chairs Improvement Boards.
As chair, Sally’s wealth of experience in strategic safeguarding, inspections, and partnership working will help the KBSP to ensure Bristol’s safeguarding arrangements are as strong and resilient as possible as we move towards the future.
On joining the KBSP, Sally said “I am delighted to be appointed to the role of Independent Chair and Scrutineer of the KBSP. I look forward to working with everyone to ensure that across the city we make sure people are safe in their homes and communities and that all our partners work together to make this happen”.
Sally was welcomed to the role by the Keeping Bristol Safe Executive Group, who jointly said - “Sally is a great addition to the Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership, and we are pleased to welcome her to the team. With experience across children and adult’s services, she will be able to offer a new perspective and expertise which will enhance the work we do, and ultimately mean we can keep more people safe.”
